Just because I inspected electronic connectors for military(?) planes it doesn't make me an expert on plane engines. LOL I do know our pin tension wasn't handling the stress needed.

There are just too many variables involved that can go wrong. I can't imagine big engines. I would say today's incident just happened but anythings possible we're told.

The lady died because she was partly pulled out the broken window next to her. Staff and others tried to pull her back inside but she died from those injuries, not from being hit by the shrapnel. It was what broke the window.

Highly engineered, pretty well understood and pretty well predictable. Failures are rare compared with say automobile engines.

This incident doesn't have signs that I would take as sabotage.
