Maybe not in this article, but I found it another article that his mother had taken it away. Sounds like she was being a good parent. I live 15 minutes away from Rochester Hills, on my way to a meeting there this morning. This is a nice area, fairly low crime. Although a minority, Rochester Hills has many black families. Many two parent homes, very good people. From what I’m reading locally, the homeowner is in deep trouble. But, as I believe for any case, let’s wait until all the facts come out before we start making assumptions either way.
No landline at his house? A 14 year old left to fend for himself, what, locked out of the house? No house key? Surely a latchkey kid has a house key. First impulse would be to call his parents. Sorry, story is full of holes and just does not add up.
