The way it works is that if the Russians turn on their radars, an alarm goes off in the cockpits of the US, UK, and French jets. A “Wild Weasel” immediately fires special missiles that destroy the air defense systems.
To turn on your radar is to die.
CINC told allies he’s coming in to clean up our BAD assets and recommended they stand back and not flip on their radar. We developed Wild Weasel with IAF, which they’ve test - successfully - at least twice in the last year.

If you get a chance to go to the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton, OH, there is a large display on the history and development of the Wild Weasel anti-radar method and knocking out of SAM missiles.
