I don’t care for single engine planes....
I’d rather have a Beechcraft Baron twin than a Comanche single.
Too risky to lose the single engine soon after takeoff.
On takeoff youd have to be a hotshot jockey to recover from an engine loss even in a twin
We had Barons.....dad had planes from USAF till his death at 65 in 1997
Flew 84s, 86s 100s, and his favorite the F-104
Mixmasters, Debonairs, bonanzas, barons, Cheyennes and Navajos and King Air 200 and several Dukes....his last bird was a Beech Starship lease
Now that was a plane from FBO Stevens in Nashville...when he was sick they flew him to mayo twice gratis round trip in that bird.....he had over 25K hours and several controlled emergency landings
JSF...
If it was a warm day, they may have been overweight.
The biggest mistake when engine fails on departure is to think you can turn around and power off glide back to the runway. You can’t. Look ahead, slow down, full flaps and find a clear spot in front of you. You’ll make it. The plane will be f-ed but you will walk away.
Agree, the only times I've gone up in one was wearing a parachute.
