An 8-year-old girl called 911 from the backseat of her father's stolen car so authorities could rescue her and her little brother, according to a report by KFMB. The woman stole the car out of a parking lot while the kids were sitting in the backseat waiting for their father. The carjacker headed straight for the border but Homeland Security spotted the car at the last United States exit before she crossed into Mexico.

That’s the important part of this story, not the d@mned car.
Also.....what an irresponsible parent. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER leave kids in the car, unattended, for ANY reason, for ANY amount of time.

This on the uncertainty of restarting the vehicle. I just never thought of that and it could well be. I have my prized firebox red Dodge Minivan 2007 model. Lovely starter in a bitter Canadian climate. I thought the technology was so far advanced that starting was a given.
