The Pittsburgh Penguins and Vegas Golden Knights will be looking to make history when the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs begin Wednesday.
The Penguins, who are trying to become the first team to win three straight Stanley Cup championships since the New York Islanders from 1980-83, will host the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round at PPG Paints Arena (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports). The Golden Knights, who are looking to win the Cup in their inaugural season, play their first playoff game against the Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena (10 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).

Winterpeg vs. Toronto an all Canadian final. Those fans, we have our fans... but those Canadians are intense, even if I like the Wild, I think this is the first time, the Jets have gotten into the playoffs, 2nd best record if I’m correct, great uniforms. I’m just kicking back and watching it. Great game.

I’m a Hershey Bears season ticket holder and they’re the Caps farm team. So seeing the BJ’s take 2 from DC in their house is crazy to see.

Winnipeg last Saturday I heard had to turn their plane around traveling to Minnesota because of a snowstorm and then, flew back the next day, the day of the game. This could have affected their performance.

I was going back and forth with games but mostly watched the Avs game.
Glad to see both them and the Devils get some offense going.
Even with the series 2-1 Preds, the fact that they’ve scored on Rinne (and chased him) is a good omen for them.
My apologies to our hockey fans up north for not mentioning the Toronto Maple Leafs who also won making it 3 teams to avoid a 3-0 deficit.
In my mind I was thinking the Avs would win one game. But they won it so well I’m hoping for one more at home, and if they do that, I’m gonna go for a really good attempt in Nashville. It was a great game.
My son watched the CO feed and they filmed Rinne’s slinking off the ice and the fans cheering. On the regular feed IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED. Or I missed it because they didn’t play it up much. I figured he’d get the mercy pull when he let the 4th one in the net, but while I was watching for it, I didn’t catch it until all of a sudden they named “saved by [the backup goalie].”
Wow, total Duck season. Ouch. They must have OC tee times for Friday.
Makes us Avs fans so happy. We made the playoffs by one strand of hair. Ok, Blackhawks got us into the playoffs with their last second goal to win in regulation. Seriously. For one year I will be a blackhawks fan unless they play my team. We owe you guys.
The Kings and Ducks both got their berths before us and lookie they’re both down 3-0 and we have won a game! Whatever happens today it will be a good day.
