I've heard that, yes.
Just my opinion, but I believe that crash was a combination of weather, the crew being rushed under pressure of the DVs, lousy Terminal Instrument Procedures (TERPs), and the crew trying to fly an approach that required 2 ADBs and only having one (meaning they couldn't even properly fly it).
ADB approaches suck anyway. Africa used to be full of them.
And the .45 cal hole in Brown's head, spoofed as well? The whole Brown flight was a CF of mission planning. If Brown hadn't been so stupid he might have seen it. Did the MAPS the pilots had not show the elevation? Aviate, navigate, communicate. The three 'ates' in order of priority.
