I stayed up last night to cover. NIkk stayed up the night before. Tonight’s her turn again. And Yes we do leave messages or call each other in the middle of the night or very early morning. I can’t post pictures with my cellphone. She can. We bounce ideas (some crazier than others). Off each other’s brains. That’s what FRiends are for!

Never saw a schedule and certainly didn’t sign up for a shift.
Doesn’t really make much difference.
The Big Computer is always ON, FR (nowadays with the Q thread on top) is always being tracked and I’m a pathologically light sleeper.
A strange noise anywhere in or around our place will usually get The Homestead Quick Response Team: Me, a 130 pound Husky named Bull and whatever firearm I happen to favor that day within a few seconds.
If it’s something on the computer, you probably won’t notice anything because I generally will just tell Bull to Stand Down and then I’ll lurk a bit.
They weren’t kidding when they made up that meme: “Sleep Well, your Navy is On Watch.”
