Wolf Dog has some momentum to knock him down, but not enough mass to pin him.

Not unlike a good defensive back that comes in at high speed and gets a good grip on a shoulder pad. Then let centripetal force work.
If the pooch had hit him square, doubt he would have gone down.

If you want to get a good idea how good the canine soldiers are and how much they are appreciated by our troops read War Dog by Rebecca Frankel. What happens to many when their time serving is up is a crime.

He is probably a good sport for doing it. He genuinely complimented the military dogs strength and athleticism.
Hopefully this NFL player discovered a whole bunch of respect for our brave service people while visiting overseas.

30mph x an 80lb Missle = 2400lbs of force. Once that force hits you, I don’t care who you are. And you’re right about not being able to pin him down, but, those fangs will get you. In some cases, if the dog loses their teeth or they get too worn down and the dog is still healthy enough, they’ll put some nice sharp titanium ones in there. Look like Jaws, from Moonraker.

Padded up ain t real. Hand to fang is a problem. My 60 lb lab got into a porcupine. My wife and I were going to pull the quills. Didn t matter who tried to pull and who tried to hold. The vet sedated Buck removes the quills and we went home. Point being they run around corners. Smell explosives. Are loyal to the handler and if trained right will get destroyed to save their friends.

Yesterday my daughter's 5 month old toy poodle puppy named Luna made a poo-poo outside for the first time. I took this picture a few minutes later:
