I and others have also noticed the checkerboard pattern on the beach area on the southeast side of the island. It appears to be a privacy mask added by Google, perhaps covering what some speculate are nude sunbathers.
Hmmm. If it’s a google mask, I doubt it’s covering sunbathers. The terrain is rocky and craggy and there’s no beach. Weird - it’s an odd shape. Wonder what it’s hiding.
