Well, that is pretty much true. In a typical year in the US, 2 or 3 times as many people will be stabbed to death as will be murdered with rifles. So, maybe knives aren't "weapons of mass destruction", but they are a lot deadlier than rifles. I'm not in favor of banning anything, but if you are gonna ban something, it would make more sense to start with knives rather than rifles.
Piers, can you explain why England has 4 times the murder rate of the USA? To say nothing of the acid attacks.
