I love the old 50s and 60s TV shows. One thing I do not care for is they really have a lot of smoking. “Perry Mason” is maybe my favorite but everyone in it smokes constantly except for Della.

Joe Friday just about always has a cigarette hanging from his lips.

Mason is still a favorite.

Joe Friday pushed Fatima and Chesterfields plenty.

Emergency has medical staff smoking.

Former smoker of 30 years here. Free for more than 20 now. Back in the day the only place you couldn’t smoke was in a hospital room when oxygen was in use. It seemed like everyone smoked. Ads were everywhere until the late 70s or so, then in the 80s restaurants would ask “smoking or non-smoking?” I don’t recall it becoming completely taboo until the 90s. I’m so glad I was able to quit the #%&@ things before smokers became outcasts. I think putting a warning before a movie saying that it contains “historical smoking” is silly.
