I remember myself and many of my peers doing stupid things as teenagers that none of us are now proud of, but I don’t remember anyone eating laundry detergent or inhaling condoms on a dare. Perhaps it would be in the best interests of society if the kids who think these are good pastimes would poison or suffocate themselves in the process - it would certainly improve the gene pool.
Did you get stuck with a knife playing “mumbly peg”? Or - seeing how many goldfish you could swallow? (I never did - the goldfish fad was before my time, and only played mumbly peg a few times - maybe I got stuck? But I think I just thought it was too dangerous.) I was more apt to play with firecrackers, M-80’s and gasoline. Thank God I still have all of my fingers. And eyebrows grow back.
However - all of that did go away by the time I was in Junior High though. So perhaps I was smarter than these goofs doing this stupid stuff in their later teen years.
