Beijing: China on Monday imposed new tariffs on 128 US imports worth $3 billion, including fruits and pork, in retaliation to US duties on steel and aluminium, fuelling fears of a trade war.

Beijing's move, which the Xinhua news agency said was decided by the custom tariffs commission of the State Council, follows weeks of heated rhetoric and threats between the world's two biggest economies.

Trump. Look. We are running a MASSIVE, and all time high trade deficit with China. You seemed to have gotten that this is a HUGE problem. But China just now appears to be completely in pro-China mode. They are not compromising. That is OVER.

We have been selling out to China for over one entire generation.

EVERYONE has been selling out America. The GOP has been selling out America. The democrats have bene selling out America.

Everyone.

It is time to bring back manufacturing, to America.

Not the same story (this is from Agency France-Press) but it is covering the same situation.

This is perhaps one of the biggest ever, stories globally. From the standpoint, of America and the future.

EVERYONE has been selling out to China.

Stand up for America.

“Trade War is better than Trade Surrender.”

Perfect!

We should retaliate on China’s retaliation.

China on Monday imposed new tariffs on 128 US imports worth $3 billion, including fruits and pork, in retaliation to US duties on steel and aluminum, fuel-ling fears of a trade war.

While $3 Billion is a large number, it is less than one percent of our GDP, and logic shows that if china imposes 25% on all of the goods from the USA and the USA then puts 25% on all china goods, they lose.

We are the country that is running a deficit, simple math.

It’s just as critical for us to buy the stuff made here. Companies are not going to bring our jobs back if we don’t buy the stuff made here.

$48bln vs. $3bln. Plus China needs our food. They have no arable land. Winning.

The problem is, their industry is 100% made up, of American companies which sold out, and moved there.

TONS of American companies. Except they are no longer American companies.

They are Chinese companies, with some minority owner who is making money off of products, which are competing with (and keeping from market) tons of what would be made here, in America.

It is time.

President Trump, stand up for America please.

We should retaliate on China’s retaliation.

Then they will retaliate on our retaliation to their retaliation. That's why it's called "trade war".

“Then they will retaliate on our retaliation to their retaliation.”

Yeah, so?

“That’s why it’s called “trade war”.

Trade war is better than trade surrender.

China's in the toughest spot, even though they're crying tough. Mexico is right behind them. And what kind of leverage does the EU have -- will they stop selling us expensive cars? Oh no.
