Thelma and Louise immediately occurred to many of us, but the MSM is not likely to make the connection, and will mock anyone who does. But I have often thought that movies and TV - consciously or not - plant ideas like this, and some sick person eventually acts it out. I've wondered if Nikolas Cruz saw "Three Billboards" before he went on his rampage.

But I have often thought that movies and TV - consciously or not - plant ideas like this, and some sick person eventually acts it out. Driving against traffic has become a frequent feature of long-distance car chases, particularly in LA (where they happen approximately twice per week).
I've long suspected that practice has become commonplace because of the car chase in To Live and Die in LA.
BTW, high-speed pursuits happen between five and six thousand times a year in California.
