I’d take the monument over Lenin’s statue they have in Seattle any day
American soldiers fought for the freedom of speech and expression. Including that of clueless American hippies and their artistic statements. I find the Russian government far more offensive in their attempts to re-adjust a serious appraisal of the 20th Century to advance their revisionist agenda.
As the statue in Seattle attests: even without Russia's help, it's already bad enough that Lenin and the Sickle and Hammer, does not get met with the same aversion as Hitler and the swastika.
This must change. So good thing the North Carolina proposal was rejected.
