God’s imprint was on this.”

And there were those on the left who insisted that Obama winning was God's will.

Both assertions are silly.

Both assertions are silly.

We know what we know,

We know what we don't know,

We don't know what we know,

And, we don't know what we don't know.

D. Rumsfeld

I can feel God’s influence on my own life, but it has usually taken many years to understand it.

Also, I see God’s imprint upon US and world history.

And given that the alternative to Trump was the clinton harridan, I’m willing to at least entertain Boykin’s viewpoint.

You report; You decide.
But, just in case, you might think about just how close we came to losing everything and humbly take to your knees to offer a prayer of thanksgiving. Do it alone. You needn’t say a word. As Nike would say “Just Do IT”. Never underestimate the power of GOD and his creations.

“...Obama winning was God’s will.”

.
It was God’s punishment on our country. It was an example of God’s intervention.

“Both assertions are silly.”

Only if you downsize your intellectual dwelling place such that it shrinks beneath the need to engage the most difficult of all mental exercise which is the question of good and evil.

That is, if you refuse to consider the major dynamic of good and evil in these matters, and their source, then you’re running away from clear and careful thinking.

Considering what PDJT was up against it was of biblical proportions in nature. Those praying got up and voted. There were large forces at work and the good people of this country took it back in an epic victory.

I consider that God’s work.

I would usually agree with you, but Trump's victory was so unexpected and razor thin. And if Hillary had won, I think it cannot be doubted that we would have passed into an utterly corrupt one-party state.

The whole thing reminded me of what Bismarck once said, "God looks out for drunks, little children and the United States of America."

When you look at US history compared to elsewhere, we have had great trials and tribulations like the Civil War, but we always seem to come out better off in the end.

It's the historical equivalent of flipping a coin and having it come up heads twenty times in a row.

No, the assertions are not silly. Nothing happens on this planet without God’s fingerprints on it. Everything we consider good and evil is due to God. As it says in the Bible, those that rule do so not by the consent of man but by the consent of God.
