We had a large poisonous snake that thought one of our combat boats was his. The boat was useless with the snake in it, so we ordered a mongoose through the navy supply system (who’d have thought you could even do this. It even had a federal part number.). It arrived a few weeks later, killed the snake in the first hour and they we didn’t know what to do with the mongoose after that. After about a week, we finally donated it to the Saigon Zoo.

Amazing procurement system. Avoided potential major damage to the boat and/or personnel using the obvious methods to eradicate the reptile, too.

The snake was unexpected, and hard to plan for.

I used to listen to the BBC on SW, and I gave up on them when they sent reporters to all the sex "capitals" of the world during AIDS Awareness Week, World AIDS Day, or some such.

The Brit definitely should have known better, and planned accordingly, if he was dumb enough to dip into that behavior to begin with, in such a place.
