I think I failed on the S7 because the screen was just so very shattered.
I ended up damaging more than just the glass trying to get it cleaned out.

I bought 2 LD G3’s in January at Ebay.
Here is a new listing LG G3-D851 for about $60 for T-Mobile and Verizon.
I picked the older model (4 years) because it has good reviews and a easy changeable battery. Just take the cover off and slip out the old battery and in with the new.
Use CPU-Z app to compare the specs with the Samsung S8. Nearly identical. $60 vs $800

I haven't broken my cell phone screen yet but I had a close call a few months ago when my phone fell flat on the tile floor.

My old phone lasted me for about five years until a humvee ran over it! Newer phone has lasted for a couple years so far, and still going strong.
