The longest straight through flight I’ve taken was just about 16 hours and change air time from Newark to Hong Kong. That said, it was more like 18 hours from the time you sit down until you get off.
I did it in Business class, I can’t imagine the hell of steerage. The end of that flight must have been hell for anyone near the toilets.

Longest for me was 17 hours Hong kong to SFO on JAL’s inaugural flight. The bird went north past Japan to catch the jet stream and we rocketed home. Amazing flight, almost empty, took the center section forward, removed the armrests, got blankets and pillows and slept most of the way.

I did it in Business class, I cant imagine the hell of steerage.
About 15 years ago, my boss wanted me in Tokyo ASAP so I got stuck in "steerage" for 13 hours - middle seat, no less - and I'm claustrophobic. It really was hell.
A few weeks later I returned to the US in business class. It was so nice I almost didn't want to get off the plane.
