I don’t know if you’ve ever seen someone in the end stages of AIDS, but there’s not a whole lot of joy involved in waking up in the morning - or at any other time. Major misery.
I wasn’t being critical of the guy contracting Aids. I guess you missed my point that he is lucky to have contracted it when treatment was available.
I have Leukemia. If I had contracted it ten years sooner than I did, I would be dead and buried.
Get it?
There is joy in the fact that you wake up at all.
