I would not say that, but am sure many will. more power to them.

Certainly the criminals got the pork they wanted. Is it a win for the President/Us? Depends on what the "objective" was?

Clearly for the President, his objective was national security. Life or death. He got his objective. So yeah that's a win.

But we will pay dearly for that. His point, I agree, is that price is cheap compared to the alternative.

If POTUS impounds all or part of some of the appropriated funds and returns them to the Treasury, our price goes down.

That Budget Emergency Act from Reagan’s administration seems to allow just that.
