MLK was just a little before my time, but I have put in a little time studying the man and I am always left asking myself what might have been had he not been killed. It really angers me that certain progressive groups have tried to hijack MLKs legacy for their own racist agenda.

It’s an interesting question. MLK was certainly a very flawed man, as some conservatives are quick to point out. But he was also a man of peace, at a time when it would have been very easy to call for violence.
America would have been so much better off had he lived.
I think that had he lived he would have ended up as sort of a conservative blue dog democrat, wanting more social welfare programs but emphasizing individual responsibility: prolife, workfare, etc. I think the country would be more morally conservative and we wouldnt fight as much over welfare knowing its goal was to get people off of it.
