I still believe Crockett’s Victory Garden is the seminal reference. I first got it while living in Wisconsin, and now, I live less than 40-miles from it!

Yes, the old Rodale's Organic gardening books
I had them too, as well as the Crockett's Victory Garden book (1977), and an original copy of the "Whole Earth Catalogue"
All are good resources, especially for insect, pest, and disease controls, if you can still find them.
