Discovered the Roosevelt Reservation which gave us right away all along the southern border (1917 iirc) It includes the Texas / Rio Grand area too.
After that some interesting reads about managing the Rio Grand — flooding, needed damns, levees etc. Mexico was even anxious to take part. When the Army Corp was mentioned (used to drive by the signs several times a month on US 231) perked up ears.

There is money to replace equipment. TRucks, earthmovers are a part of an army (They are a part of our National Guard) We’ve had a couple of damn/ lakes built by the corp near by. They are part of military even though others belong. Good training and practice for those drivers who want careers once they leave military.
