I knew about Paul’s “control” issue - and, from what I’ve read, he was not much liked by the others because of his constant berating of their abilities. I also read that their were many occasions where Ringo’s drumming was so poor (in Paul’s opinion) that Paul would go back in studio and dub over the drum track; but I don’t know for certain if that aspect is true.

There was an interview once where John was asked if Ringo was the best drummer he had seen. John said, He is not even the best drummer in the Beatles.
Paul was/is an exceptionally talented man. His writing will hang in there for the next hundred years. But that said, he is probably kind of a perfectionist.

I don't know about Macca over dubbing Ringo, but I do know that Ringo
was technically the first Beatle to quit the band...He left for a couple of
days during the White Album sessions because of Paul's criticizing his
playing...Paul apologized, draped his drums with flowers and all was
forgiven. Paul also plays drums on several Beatle tracks...most notably on
'The Ballad of John and Yoko' because Ringo was not around when John
wanted to record it. George doesn't play on the song either, IIRC.
