DiGenova, btw, said a long time ago that the FBI has agents ready to talk. He mentioned subpoenas from the hill. The assumption being these agents must be subpoenaed in order to be able to speak. They can’t just volunteer their fine opinion.
At that time, his wife Victoria Toensing, was becoming the lawyer for the Whistleblower, William Campbell, a former FBI agent. Campbell tried to volunteer what he knew and the R’s would not listen to him, until they finally coughed up some staffers to give him a dance card.
There are surely more of them inside the FBI. They just needed to see some real progress made first, to round up some bad hats, before they dared to stick their neck out.
McCabe firing certainly advanced their hope. Perhaps, there will be more agents willing to come forth, soon.
