A reported 200 bars of gold and other precious metals have scattered across an airport runway in Russia after a cargo plane door broke off upon takeoff.

Supposedly a load shift. If that’s the truth, that 24,000 pound load probably fell out in one fairly compact place.
In that case, a known flight path 5 or 6 miles long, with a 378 million dollar reward, id think that is very much worth a serious search.
It’ll be interesting to see how much of it is found. If none is, that will be very interesting indeed.
Sounds like most even fell out on the runway.
Was the cargo door left open during takeoff? This sounds highly unlikely. How strong were those winds? And if they were that strong, why were they attempting to fly in them?
If I found one of the bars, I would try to find its rightful owner.
I would keep it myself until I found him/her.
If it walks & quacks like a duck, maybe it is a duck!
This is believable ... Big grain of salt!
