I don’t think it snapping turtle has that level of discernment. Besides it’s only meat. Mao ate 6 puppies for breakfast just about every day... Or at least that’s the reports that it come out back in those days when we were keeping track of Mao. If that dog when walking in the backyard same thing would happen. I’m not condoning his behavior but... He was just feeding it. My freaky neighbor is a herpetologist and he feeds his mice, hamsters Etc... if the snakes were big enough which I hope they’re not, a puppy would have been suitable material for food as well.
Well, I am an amateur herpetologis who just happened to have worked in a Reptile House in a famous zoo. We NEVE used live except on rare occasions when a snake refused to feed.
Nearly all reptiles will take freshly killed or thawed frozen animals.
Needless to say we NEVER used dead puppies or cats.
If thus guy did this, he is one sick bastard and no degree of excuse or defense shoukd be offered to him.
To do it front of kids is so much viler.
