Starting the show. Carrie Underwood (who sings my favorite song right now, the Champion). Voiceover, no video of her.

Here come the judges. Luke Bryant is so good as a singer. I have affection for Lionel Richie from my first job. I am team Taylor Swift and have always hated the surperficial Katy Perry.

My first job was for Casey Kasem transcribing 60 min cassettes (wow that ages me) of music stars verbatim so they could pick which 30 second blurb to air on his countdown show. Best thing was getting to hear these interviews of some real amazing stars. Second best thing, I was paid by the hour to type at home and I was a slow typist! I had to write down every bad word, every “uhh,” every sound. So they could pick the clearest parts.

One interview that took me the longest was the Commodores. They were all talking at once, and I’d think one guy was talking but later he was clearly someone else and I kept having to go back and rewrite. But I still feel fondly toward him for some reason.

Wow, how did you get that job? I imagine it could have been awesome--or horrible depending on who you had to transcribe, lol.
