I must have missed when some otters became domesticated. And I do so try to keep up with news of the animal kingdom.
Otters are cute but they do not play nice.

One wonders how our intrepid 77 year old kayaker determined the Otter was a “He”. Bias much lady?

Please...this comment is otterly ridiculous!

It probably thought she was a baby seal. I’ve heard otters abuse them... although that’s sea otters and this occurred inland, on a river.

One wonders how our intrepid 77 year old kayaker determined the Otter was a He. If it was a female, it would have been a beaver.

Most women seem to think that men are more likely to latch onto them than women. Obviously, mileage in this area is highly variable.

About a decade ago, when I started kayaking, an long timer at it told be to avoid areas where the big seals stayed, ate and got fat.
They really didn’t attack you, they would just get up on your kayak to rest and look for any food you might have.
We had a neighbor who built wooden canoes, and he and his wife laughed at us.
His wife in a pier area in Monterrey had a huge seal get up and into a new canoe with her. It overloaded the canoe and caused it to break up and she took an unplanned dip. Other yakers helped her to shore with the pieces of her formerly new canoe.
