CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King on Tuesday urged her best friend Oprah Winfrey to run against Donald Trump in 2020. King even absurdly insisted she could stay on at CBS and cover the race “impartially.” The co-host, it turns out, has been lobbying her friend to run for months. On the show, King pleaded, “But I also think you have a unique ability in terms of healing and connecting all people.”
King even cited the late poet Maya Angelou, pleading to Winfrey: “What do you think Maya would say? It's one of these times I wish Maya was here. What do you think that she would say?”
After all this, King disputed the idea that a potential Winfrey run might compromise her as co-host of CBS This Morning:
GAYLE KING: Somebody told me you'd have to leave your job at CBS. I said, "Why do I have to leave my job at CBS?"
OPRAH WINFREY: I think you might.
KING: No, I don’t. I could be very impartial. I could be very impartial.
It’s possible King was joking on that last point, but given how aggressively she’s promoted a Winfrey run, maybe not. On February 15, King revealed that she was pushing her liberal friend to oppose Trump since before Winfrey’s famous Golden Globes speech.
Of course, CBS has never seen a problem for King to support Democrats and then talk to politicians on This Morning. In 2012, she attended a fundraiser for Barack Obama’s reelection. Who also was there? Winfrey. On August 6, 2016, King attended Obama’s 55th birthday party.
On February 18, CBS’s 60 Minutes gave Winfrey a platform to quiz voters on Trump’s mental fitness.

And perhaps a number of simpletons who think ‘Oprah’ is really Elizabeth Hurley’s ‘Oprah’ from the first Austin Powers movie.

And she’s obese. It would be quite the payback since these clowns on the left have been insulting POTUS DJT as being fat.
They think Oprah is the solution to the “divided” problem. They don’t understand the “divided” problem so any idea for a solution is going nowhere.
They’re the ones guilty of causing the division. You can’t endlessly play identity politics, encouraging everyone to celebrate only their differences, while convincing them they’re a victim, and not be divisive.
The ones on true power understand this, which is why they engage in it. The useful idiots actually believe they’re doing something righteous, when all they accomplish is the destruction of their own environment.
Diversity, diversity, diversity...the more it is said the more it divides us.

Those of us who don't wallow in the eternal pity party of victim-hood see the above comment as stupid, insipid, and culled from the language of broken slaves.
Gayle King might see the country as peopled by infantilized broken children but WE SEE CITIZENS OF OUR COUNTRY AS CAPABLE GROWN-UP adults choosing their own destiny. Take your creepy pity party and stuff it Gayle King - wallow in your victim status some place else.

Would one regard CBC This Morning as a news show. So its OK to say that they want a best friend to beat Donald? Bias.
