Good post. People are gullible, lazy, and inclined to adopt group think if for no reason other than fear of being ostracized from their local group. Add in confirmation bias. All of these are powerful forces in human nature.

The people in the US are no better off, truth-wise, than the people of North Korea. We just get a different message, one that fits the predominant world-view that has evolved here. The messages from the press are highly manipulated to distract from the raw truth.
