On Monday, David Byrne apologized for not working with any women on his new album, “American Utopia.”

When promoting his new album on Thursday, the former Talking Heads frontman thanked his collaborators on Instagram— all of whom were male, according to the BBC.

“David Byrne has a special place in my heart, but it seems like women don’t have a place in this American Utopia,” tweets music writer Lauren Martin.

David Byrne apologized for not working with any women on his new album, I wonder would that have made the album better or worse?

And if he had worked with a woman some people would complain if she didn’t make as much money as he did (never mind it’s HIS album).

You can pretty much bet he will have to apologize for something after every album from now on. They know he’ll cave and they’ll find something.

Imagine how 70’s R&B would be far different.

The Temptations and a chick
The Spinners would replace Purvis (12:45) Jackson with a soprano
LTD
The Ohio Players
Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes
Earth wind and Fire
All these bands and many more were just a bunch of misogynists instead of a group of supremely talented musicians who could tell stories in song.

Hmmm. Women were featured on his last album, which was actually quite interesting. Annie Clark (St. Vincent) was a co-headliner on their tour, performing songs co-written by them, as well as St. Vincent songs.

I find some of what St. Vincent did interesting, but I likes much of their collaboration. And the brass band was very unusual and rather fun.

Critics are frustrated artists, who suck at art, so they know what they'd do better than their victims.

David Byrne is an artist, who used band members he felt best fit his artistic vision. This idiot critic believes that artists are "hot-swappable," where you can simply swap out a male artist with a female artist, and there will be no difference.

Every time he was picking a member of the band, he thought, “that’s not my beautiful wife.”

LOL. +1 Funny

I always wonder if the Bert and Ernie muppets were named after the characters in It's a Wonderful Life.

Yes. Henson confirmed that.

David Byrne ...This conceited dolt blew up The Talking Head and refused all pleas for a reunion tour by the other three members who wanted to make some big money and have some fun touring and making a new album.

So eff David Byrne.
Also he made a Latino salsa oriented album https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rei_Momo (1989) a few years after The Talking Heads with New York’s elite salsa musicians. After this record came out one of the most famous of them said in an interview that they were paid much more than usual for their session work. That were very happy with this arrangement but that they could not stand working with “that faggot”. Bwahhahha!

Effeminate should mean quiet.

Wait a sec. I’d better shut up or I’ll lose my girl card.

Now, female muppets abound. But Henson couldn’t imagine females as human back in the day.

Never heard of him and if he apologizes to the quota Nazis, I’m glad.

I don't know about Henson's past, but Janice and the Electric Mayhem have been around since 1975.

Then I stand corrected. He really didn’t have any major female Sesame Street character though.

True, these were The Muppet Show characters, for adults.

I'm guessing that the females on Sesame Street were limited to live actors.

Well the original muppets looked like frogs, mostly, so there’s that. I know cuz Henson and his then gf came to my 3rd grade classroom and put on their show. Good times.
