Villagers thought they killed a supernatural shape-shifter. It was an endangered Sumatran tiger.

HTB, Why are you picking one word out of his posts and being so condescending?

You’re the one being quite a rational and emotional, not to mention downright obnoxious. You’re not even trying to address what he’s trying to say, you’re just picking out a word or phrase Out of context.

I’m finding it so annoying that I’m jumping in to defend him. Are you 16?

Because I am tired of people who worship animals but refer to their fellow human beings as vermin.

If you think that is acceptable then that is your choice but I do not like where that kind of thinking leads.

It led to the death of 60 million people plus in the twentieth century.

Look, no one is in favor of cruelty to animals but dangerous animals that are hanging around people do need to be put down.

Since they have no firearms they had to do this with spears.

The rangers were being of no help having set ONE trap and that was several weeks ago. The tiger was IN THE VILLAGE.

Were they suppose to offer it animal crackers and tea?

That’s not what I read into what he said.

Neither was it what I read into what you said. I just saw you belittling random words and phrases, instead of having a real conversation like you are now.

Thanks for clarifying where It all came from, though.

I’m thinking the tiger must’ve been sick. Otherwise it likely wouldn’t of been hanging around the village.

At a cabin that we had, mountain lions pretty much tried to avoid people. Only ones that were sick and unable to hunt would come closer to the community, looking for easier prey.

Just curious ... where was your cabin?

I’m here in remote Montana and we have healthy ones about. Too damn many of them IMNOHO.

In the Sierras. In Tulare county, California. There was millions of acres of forest right outside my back door. A lot of it designated wilderness, So the mountain lions and bears didn’t come around unless they were having problems surviving.

I really miss having all that solitude and being able to hike right outside my back door. It’s a different world here in the Appalachians. Much more populated. but it is lovely being back in the United States :-) We looked at Montana/Idaho, it’s beautiful there. But I figured I was too wimpy for the winters.

Maybe your winters are tough on the animals there as well? So they come to the populated areas? Or maybe the population is just thriving and they are trying to find new territory? Mountain lions do spread out quite a bit.

We started out with a real conversation and then you are right.

It is what happens often after people have conversed for a while. It is like they are speaking code.

But he knew exactly what I meant.

And I knew exactly what he meant.

Glad to help.

Very likely. Sick, old or injured.

Which meant that it was a problem that should have been dealt with by the rangers. But they did not seem to be very interested in doing their jobs.

Sort of like democrats.:)

Well, I’m glad you two knew what was going on. I did follow the whole thread of conversation.

Exactly! The Rangers should have shot him. Then the villagers wouldn’t have been so scared and the poor tiger wouldn’t have suffered. They’re the ones that fell down on the job.

The wildlife people in the Sierras never dealt with the mountain lions until it was too late either. The lions took a couple pets by the time somebody shot them. But they were reported as hanging around long before that. I’m assuming the wildlife people are all liberals. Just like the forest rangers there. The poor mountain lions were starving, one was injured and one was a juvenile that didn’t know how to hunt. And they just let them suffer. Along with the poor people that lost their dogs. I don’t get it.

Four legs good, Two legs bad.

Here we have bears that can quickly become nuisance bears and quite dangerous if they start hanging around humans.

Predators equating humans with food never ends happily for either predator or human.
