Thought up by the same ‘people’ that came up with Arcades and play areas at the mall so one can drop the kiddies off for the afternoon and have them supervised by machines.
THEN the ‘teenagers- found the ‘malls’.
Of course in MY high school days I didn’t have time to ‘hang out’ at the local hang out (??) cause I and most everyone I knew had practice for whatever sport in season and JOBS be it mowing lawns, shoveling snow, babysitting, on the farm etc, or- as in my case setting pins in a bowling alley double lane, double shift at least 3 and more likely 5 nights a week.
Where else could a mere lad of 14 make 6 bucks a night and not have mother ‘worried’ where he was at?
AND put a derelict out of a job?
And you prolly couldn’t put $17 worth of quarters into a machine if your life (or any of your synthetic lives) depended on it.
