Boy, I agree about Dunkirk. Zero character development, poor story. Seemed like the sound took center stage over all else.

The vicious sound track was an unrelenting and subliminal assault on the senses. In my view, it was a very creepy experiment in the use of Shepard Tones to toy with the viewer's emotions. Devious and inexcusable.
