Turbo prop and regional jets. They fly in the horrible zone. 16,000 to 22,000 feet. Not enough to get above the weather and too big and regulated to scud run under it.

The "CRJ2/TB" Was a dead giveaway; I was scratching my head visualizing a 737... Everyone sick? Not possible.
Max capacity 50? possible..
