Many are there of their own choosing. Years ago I tried to help the homeless. No good deed goes unpunished. The housing crunch in urban areas is a significant problem for which there is no good solution. As far as LA goes the prices will be collapsing soon but probably not to sane levels.

I disagree. Lots of money from China continues to flow into LA and So. Cal. That money is currently financing new high construction in Downtown LA and is responsible for driving up home prices from LA to San Diego. So I don’t see real estate or rental prices dropping until Chinese investors run out of money.
