How often do you fast? I’ve seen this work to keep the A1C held in check. I also read an article reporting a study that supports this resetting strategy very well. It suggested a 3 to 5 day semi-fast of no more than 1000 calories of very low carb meals each 3 to 6 months as I recall. I saved the article and would need to find it to be certain.

The first step in getting something done is to start.

If I thought my doctor would take actions to confine me for even 72 minutes I’d be finding another doctor.

I fast when I can, which comes out to around once per month. I’m not sure anything short of water-fasting (black coffee is ok too) will have the same effect, but that’s getting out of my league.

As to finding a doctor, it’s not worth the trouble for me to hunt around for one that will accept my lifestyle. I figure humans have been dealing without eating for days much longer than they’ve been trying to convince their bodies that 3 meals every day is a good thing - so screw it, my doctor doesn’t need to be involved.
