Now, that would be a complete protein meal, wouldn’t it?

Or not?

lj, what do you say.

And I’m still trying to think of a name for the thread you want to start for eating meatless but nutritionally complete.

Aside from *Eating Meatless and Healthy* or something really original and creative like that, I’m at a loss.

If you want a ready-made audience, the recipe thread could be a good spot. I imagine JT wouldn’t mind a guest chef one time :-)

If you’re planning on making it more prepper related, you’re welcome to put it here. We could put out a special ping. If you want to do it in a standalone thread, be happy to give you the ping list I have so far.

I haven’t thought of a name; any suggestions welcome.

Definitely prep oriented as well as nutrition and whatever else fits.

I read about how nutritious and healthy barley is. Finally ordered regular barley and barley flakes to mix in with oats for cereal.

After many efforts, I gave all the barley to my friend with goats. I could not figure out a way to make it edible. :-( It was always slimy.

I did manage to mix some barley flour while making bread, though.

I’m sure that recipe is a complete protein but you’d have to eat a lot of it to get a lot of protein, but what’s interesting is if one eats legumes, grains and some milk products on a regular basis it’s almost impossible not to get enough protein. Especially if you toss in a few nuts or seeds, tahini, almond butter, or even baked potatoes and broccoli, for instance. Many vegetables have surprising amounts of protein.

And then there’s iron...
