He could actually use that verse to support it being flat. Isiah says a circle, not a sphere. They could argue the earth is flat and round. Geometrically it is a sphere, not a circle.

The Hebrew word translated “circle” in Isaiah 40:22 (חוּג, khug) can also mean sphere, FWICS.
