I don’t get it.
Or, maybe I do, having been turned down for jobs before because my skills are a threat to the accepted mediocrity or the position of the guy doing the hiring?

It’s because the employer can only afford the salary of the guy on the right, even though he would love to hire the skills of the guy on the left.
