My gut is telling me this guy is dirty as hell. His entire department needs to be investigated, not just for the failures but for their lack of training.
And he's out there every day making a celebrity of himself. AND he threw that deputy under the bus today.
Training records, I think, will be important, including his own or lack thereof possibly.
Having said all of that, I feel bad for the rank and file deputies, so this is not directed at them.
Before we publically fry that Deputy, let's look at his department. Could he be a coward? Yes. Could it be something else? Possibly.
I haven’t heard a word yet about his radio communications. County emergency services should have this recorded.
broward has a policy of not prosecuting school (ethnic) offenders. easier to do if you never see them.
broward county is comprehensively f*cked. this newly revealed “fact” shouldn’t come as any surprise
This shitbag Sheriff actually said the video of the cowardly deputy “may NEVER be released.” WTF. Can someone re-animate Jeff Sessions to get staff down there ASAP?
Police officers guard home of deputy assigned to Florida HS who never went in during shooting: report

The current Broward County Sheriff, Scott Israel, a Democrat, was elected in order to oust a reformist Republican Sheriff, Al Lamberti, who had been appointed by the Governor. Israel’s candidacy and campaign were organized by a syndicate of interests and personalities who had prospered under the corrupt former sheriff, Ken Jenne, who had been prosecuted and sent to prison on federal charges. His removal from office had opened the position to a rare Republican chance to hold local office. Thus, almost by definition, the current Broward County Sheriff is a figurehead for a corrupt circle of insiders. With 6,000 employees, an annual budget of $730 million, and little accountability, he has much opportunity for mischief.
The sheriff is a champion virtue signaler.
The two most fd up solutions are more gun control and more cops. Both will lead to more killings.
This sheriff has been dishonest from the beginning.... The school board has also been very vague.....they knew nothing..supposedly.
You never will either...not if these
adults can hide behind the *hit storm
CNN is masking it with......
We could hear them because Sessions may be getting involved very soon.
The cover-up is being exposed:

Sheriff Israel is trying to manipulate the bad attention away from him by being front-and-center whenever a camera appears, and then criticizing everyone else. He’s as guilty as hell. I figure he carries about 25% of the blame.
Who investigates an entire FUBAR situation like this, with multiple law enforcement entities, and other entities, screwing up to result in the perfect storm? Would Homeland Security do it?
We couldn’t trust the FBI to do it, just as we can’t trust the FBI to investigate their own crimes in FISA-gate, and sabotaging the election. DOJ?
I thought he was an obvious attention hound from the moment he appeared on TV after the shooting.
Didn’t it take over 20 minutes for them to show up on the scene?
They give a lot quicker response when a busybody calls the cops because they see someone they don’t recognize walking down the street.
They’re super fast for “officer down” calls. Not much else.
I hadn't heard that. I know that was the approximate timeline for Sandy Hook. I'm friends with the local HS security liaison. We're a fairly rural community, just County Sheriff's deputies and State Patrol out this way. My friend has been told by the Sheriff's dept that if there is an incident at the HS about the best he can hope for is a couple of deputies there within 10 minutes, although it could be up to 20 minutes. When I help him chaperone HS events he and I make "other arrangements" to ensure the safety of the kids. We don't rely on LE getting there until it is all over.
