I, as a parent, would never ever put a 14 year old girl in a room by herself in a motel or hotel anyway. When our granddaughter was 14 she travelled with us and we made sure our room had 2 beds and if not we made her a pallet on the floor.

I agree. The article implies that the only reason they shared a room is that there were no others available. I’d never put a 14 year old in her own hotel room. Staff would know, they have access to pass keys and not all are trustworthy people.

that’s for sure. I would always stay in a suite hotel and sleep in the front room on the pullout. The one time we gave them an separate room was a near thing, fortunately paranoia bedcheck caught them before any real troubles could get started...they were sooo sad when I poured all the liquor out...

Roll forward 7 years and you might have found me driving around Santa Monica in the middle of the night hunting for an open liquor store for my daughter’s wine requests so she and her friends could have a proper room party...

You call them pallets too?

I always wondered if other people used that term.

My 6 year old loves to make them on Fridays in the living room in front of the TV.
