They've been using them for decades off base.
Qx's close relative insisted that there were crash retrieval teams that could go almost instantly to any spot on the globe to retrieve crashed craft and clean up the evidence.

It was similar to this but the one I saw had stabilizers and three times the size.
This 1950's Air Force saucer never hovered over ten or twenty feet. The one I saw was gliding up the valley and very stable looking.
