The idea that China threatens our military superiority anytime in the foreseeable future is ludicrous.

If we stopped all new development TODAY, completely froze, it would take them 40 years to get close.

I don’t know if I agree with you, but I do not have a military background.

I do however know a bit about China. Do not underestimate them, at all.

Just posting because I saw your profile, and I must say hello to you. Thanks for your post.

The problem is that China can concentrate everything it’s got in the western Pacific. But the US can’t do the same. We’ve got forces tied up in Europe (NATO), and in the Middle East.

So can China dictate policy in the western Pacific? No. Can China even issue credible threats in the western Pacific? For now, no. But soon...maybe yes.

Never underestimate the enemy.

I do share your sentiments, but I’m not willing to dismiss those guys.

Clintons gave away so many secrets that they got a real big boost and caught up quite a bit.

I avoid anything chinese made. It’s not always real easy, but I don’t spend a dime that the commies get that I’m aware of.

I'd say their island building spree in the S. China Sea is aimed to challenge that superiority.

No need to develop air craft carriers when you have built artificial islands in strategic locations, complete with landing strips, projecting regional power and controlling critical sea lanes.
