Color me skeptical. The Chinese are simply not a very creative culture. They are far, far, far more likely to take someone else’s ideas as their own than they are to create their own innovations. Innovation is a rarity there.
For 30 years, they have been absorbing the very best American educations.
There are five times, as many Chinese, as Americans.
Do not think for one moment, they are any less capable of things than we are.
They have done some amazing things in their history. They built the Great Wall, how long ago?
We still don’t have one, on our border.
To add ...
China’s stayed out of 2 world wars
why would they want to start one now?
The list of innovations from China is long and hardly a rarity.
Paper making, gunpowder, the compass, printing press are among their major inventions; also see a longer list in mechanics, hydraulics and mathematics applied to horology, metallurgy, astronomy, agriculture, engineering, music theory, craftsmanship, naval architecture and warfare.

See the more details in Robert Temple’s book “The Genius of China”. Includes the claim that the Chinese had the first powered flight.
That they copy others ideas - so what so does every country that can. So do we. Big deal.
