"'Gannett Company, Inc. is a publicly traded American media holding company headquartered in Tysons Corner, Virginia, near McLean in Greater Washington DC.[3][4] It is the largest U.S. newspaper publisher as measured by total daily circulation."

The suggestion from Post #786 is that there is a tie to the 'company' located nearby. A few thoughts come to mind - First the biggest newspapers sit in close proximity for leaking. Second, reporters and photographers capture things i.e. records; Third it was Gannett that that blocked out text / e-mail on phone during recent SOTU and no other source material can since seemingly be found; and Fourth photographers & reporters travel places making them useful cover agents and/or sources.

Operation Mockingbird was an alleged large-scale program of the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) that began in the early 1950s and attempted to manipulate news media for propaganda purposes. It funded student and cultural organizations and magazines as front organizations.

Operation Mockingbird

Funding student organizations and magazines would explain the radicalization of college campuses.
