This parade is stupid. There is no reason for it. It’s not part of American culture to have military parades for no reason. Trump got this idea from the parade in Moscow.
The kind of conservative who this idea appeals to is the kind of conservatives who is weak on policy issues. We want action on policy, not symbolic stunts that accomplish nothing.
Usually, military parades are staged for dictators. This parade will be held for the American people and the Constitution. I think I would like that show of loyalty and commitment.
And the parade would honor the troops themselves. There can definitely be an emphasis on their accomplishments and history.
